Perfect Old Fashioned
Bourbon or rye whiskey is combined with a touch of simple syrup and a few dashes of bitters, then stirred over ice to chill and slightly dilute the spirit. The drink is garnished with an orange twist or cherry, adding subtle aroma and sweetness that complement the rich, warming flavors of the whiskey.
As the cocktail rests in the glass, the flavors meld, balancing the whiskey’s warmth with the bitters’ complexity and the syrup’s gentle sweetness. The preparation emphasizes precise measurements, gentle stirring, and quality ingredients to produce a smooth, balanced, and classic Old Fashioned cocktail.
