Fried Bananas
Ripe bananas are peeled and sliced, then lightly coated in flour, sugar, or a batter before being fried in hot oil until golden brown. The frying process caramelizes the natural sugars in the fruit, creating a crisp exterior while the interior remains soft and sweet. The preparation emphasizes timing to avoid overcooking and maintain tender banana texture.
As the bananas cook, the exterior develops a lightly crisp, caramelized surface that contrasts with the creamy, warm interior. Optional spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg can be added to enhance flavor. The result is a simple, indulgent treat with a balance of sweetness, crispness, and rich fruit flavor.
